Publisher - Penerbit UTM Press

Category - General Academics

This book is a compilation of studies and current literature within the area of control and system automation that include simulation and experimental works in electrical system, mechanical system, manufacturing industries, robotics, process industries, and agricultural sector. The challenges and the state-of-the-art of control and system automation principles are comprehensively discussed in this book. This book contains 12 chapters which can be divided into two broad areas: work on control systems and design of automation system. The first segment discusses topics such as jacketed kettle system, nonlinear overhead crane system, 6-DOF model quadcopter system and Wheel Inverted Pendulum system. The second segment of this book covers topics such as automated capillary irrigation system, control of water distribution system, optimal control of water supply system and traffic flow in multilane-multiple. Several control strategies can be applied in order to compel the system to achieve the desired situation such as conventional PID, cascade and internal model control (IMC), PSO-tuned PID, Fuzzy-based controller, Genetic Algorithm etc.
